Why Divine Order exists
Why we started, what the name means, and what we're actually trying to build.
The short version
Divine Order started in [founding year] with a plain observation: a lot of people in Oxnard wanted a church that didn't feel scattered — not the schedule, not the teaching, not the community around it.
So we started small: one Sunday gathering, Scripture taught straight through, and a commitment to keep it that way as it grows. No countdown video, no fog machine — just people showing up, sitting down, and being known.
The name is the whole thesis. Order isn't control — it's what God brings to whatever's scattered: a full calendar, a hard season, a city as spread out as this one. We named the church after the thing we actually believe happens here.
What we hold to
Scripture first
We teach the Bible in plain English, verse by verse, trusting it to do the work rather than dressing it up.
Small on purpose
We'd rather know your name than fill a room. Divine Order stays sized around real relationships, not attendance numbers.
Built for this city
Oxnard raised us. We plan around this community's schedule, its work, and its kids — not a borrowed model from somewhere else.
